A luxury retailer for Royal and celebrity clients, partnered with many of the world's leading brands, Asprey was established in 1781 and still trades today with its flagship store located in Mayfair London.

Known for exclusive designs of high quality, this fine example of a desk or travel barometer is housed in a pigskin covered case with a silver hallmarked hinge stamped A & Co. Ltd. The other hallmarks are very small and less distinct but appear to show a lion and leopards head mark with a date letter S, indicating 1913.

Signed 'ASPREY LONDON, COMPENSATED' on the clean silvered dial, it has a barometric scale ranging from 23 -31 inches and a rotating altimeter scale for altitudes up to 8,000 feet. It also incorporates a Fahrenheit and centigrade scale curved thermometer.

In excellent condition and fully working, the lid of the outer case is slightly warped which is only a minor cosmetic blemish as can be seen in the photos.

Measuring 4" diameter by 1¼" in its case and weighing 425 grams, this is a really impressive instrument with a strong aesthetic quality.
